How to get to the Huelva Terminal

If you are travelling by car to Gran Canaria or Tenerife with Fred. Olsen Express, reaching the Muelle Sur (South Dock) at the Puerto Exterior (Outer Port) is very straightforward.

From Huelva city, take the H-30 towards La Rábida/Puerto. Continue along the N-442 (towards the Huelva-Matalascañas-Mazagón Road) until you reach Polígono Nuevo. Finally, join the street "Plaza Autoridad Puerto Huelva", which will lead you directly to the Puerto Exterior Muelle Sur.

Once you enter the port area, simply follow the signs for “Puerto exterior” and “Terminal de contenedores - Ferry”.

If you need a visual guide, you can watch this explanatory video showing the detailed route.

Routes and schedules from the Port of Huelva

Route 1400 Huelva - Canary Islands

Our Huelva terminal is not only a strategic point for passenger mobility between the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands archipelago, but also the starting point for an iconic journey across the Atlantic Ocean: the 1400 Route.

This route gets its name from the number of nautical miles that separate Huelva from the Canary Islands on a round trip. Interestingly, the figure strongly resonates with the maritime history of the region, as it was in 1492 when Christopher Columbus set sail from Huelva (the historic Port of Palos) on his first voyage to the New World, making a stopover in the archipelago.

Since 2018, at Fred. Olsen Express we provide service to all passengers who, whether for leisure, work, or relocation, choose to travel by ferry between the Peninsula and the Canary Islands. Today, we continue to operate this crossing aboard the Buenavista Express, with a firm commitment to constantly improving our customers' experience and keeping alive this historic line that connects the Canary Islands with Huelva and the rest of Europe.
