ACCESSIBILITY

All our ships are accessible to wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility. We have adapted, and continue to improve, our on-board facilities and services so that they can be used by all our clients on equal conditions. See the services we provide below:

Universal Accessibility Certification

We are certified in Universal Accessibility based on the UNE 170001 standard for our services between Gran Canaria and Tenerife. This guarantees everyone, regardless of age or disability, the same possibilities to access our facilities with the greatest possible independence.

ACCESS FOR ASSISTANCE DOGS

If you travel with a guide or assistance dog, you can access any part of our ships without prior notice. However, it is essential that the assistance dog has its corresponding identification visible and that the traveller submits the official documentation that associates them with the dog.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS

All conventional non-powered wheelchairs can access our ships. Electric vehicles (motorised wheelchairs) may also have access provided that they do not exceed the dimensions of the on-board facilities and that there is capacity to accommodate them in the wheelchair area. Check here the allowed dimensions per ship.

If you travel with a wheelchair, remember to check the "Boarding and disembarking assistance" section before travelling.

ON-BOARD RECEPTION AND CARE DURING THE CROSSING

If you require assistance during your crossing, but not when boarding, you must inform the crew upon arrival. On board you will find the following services:

You can enjoy our service throughout the ship. We also have a specially accessible area connected with ramps, near the accessible emergency exit, the rest of the services and with adapted chairs.

We offer free assistance by trained personnel. You will be assisted when boarding, during voyage and when disembarking. The assistance does not include nursing or health care.

We have adapted toilets and seats, anchor points for wheelchairs, information in Braille, barrier-free routes and magnetic induction loops*. *Available at Benchijigua, Bañaderos and Bajamar Express.

FURTHER INFORMATION
  • Assistance at our facilities is free of charge and is provided by Fred. Olsen Express trained personnel
  • If you travel with any type of barrier, even if you do not need assistance, it is advisable to inform it for safety reasons (reduced mobility, visual, hearing or any other type of disability)
  • Share this information in the comments section at the time of your purchase (STEP 3 of the purchase process, option: "Do you need special assistance?"). This information will not be associated with your personal data and must be provided each time you purchase a ticket.
